There is no story that is better suited to tell than my own, I will not keep you waiting. It is a new dawn, it’s time for us to tell our stories in our own words. I met my husband in my mid-twenties. He was a God-fearing man and had all the qualities that I had desired for in a husband. Our love was raw and not defiled. We dated for four years and then tied the knot. We agreed that we would not have a baby in our first year of marriage. We wanted to get to know each other, we traveled, had vacations and camped.
Waiting on the Lord
The marriage was beautiful. During our second year of marriage, we started trying for a baby. We visited our gynecologist and followed all the instructions to the core. We did not succeed. In our third year of marriage, I did not become pregnant. In our fourth year, I got pregnant.
We were excited. Sadly we lost the pregnancy at 6 weeks. In our 5th year, I got pregnant again but lost the pregnancy at 3 months. My heart was broken, how can your heart not break when you lose a baby? Broken hearts are what give us strength, understanding, compassion, and eventually lead us to our purpose.
In our 6th year of marriage, God blessed us with a baby boy.
During the six years of waiting, I learned so much. My major lesson was enjoying every season of life. I began writing my first e-book called” Enjoying Different Seasons of Life“. It talks about being fruitful and victorious in different seasons of life.
A 40 Weeks Pregnancy Devotion Guide
When I got pregnant I wrote my second book “A 40 Weeks Pregnancy Devotion Guide“.
This is a guide that teaches a mother how to pray for her unborn child. Every week, there is a chapter that discloses what is happening with the baby’s development. Mothers learn how to focus on God while pregnant, therefore, reducing stress and anxiety. I have shared extracts from my pregnancy journal as an encouragement to mothers to write their own thoughts and feelings during pregnancy. Each chapter ends with scripture for meditation and a mother’s love letter to the unborn baby.
Be Encouraged and Motivated
My purpose is to encourage and motivate women to be fruitful and victorious in every season of their lives. I got to know this after writing the first set of books and a blog. I felt an immense feeling of joy and fulfillment after doing this. The feeling is deeply fulfilling and words cannot fully express it. You get a sense of wonderment as if the world has opened up its gates for you for the very first time and ushered you into a new and wonderful uncharted world. Here is my recently shared my story on NTV and here is my interview
“My purpose in writing is to encourage you and assure you that what you are experiencing is truly part of God’s grace for you. Stand firm in this grace” (1 Peter 5:12 NLT).
God’s sustaining grace gives us the power to keep going when we are troubled.
